Now, what do you have to do to be entered into the giveaway you ask??

Its pretty simple....

1 -  become a member here at nailartsy.com

2 -  upload a pic to one of our Galleries ---OR--- create an album and upload at least 1 pic to it

If you need help with uploading a pic there is a “how to “ thread in the “Welcome” forum for your reference

http://nailartsy.com...-the-galleries/

Winners will be chosen at random on Friday Feb 14th after 12pm PST and be notified via private message and email .  I will also announce the winners on FaceBook and G+ for your convenience. Winners will be asked to email back their shipping address so I may ship them their prize. You will have until Feb 21st  to respond or forfeit the prize and another member will be chosen.

During my random drawing of member names, if a name is chosen that has not made an album and/or uploaded a pic, another name will be drawn and so on until I have 2 members that have uploaded a pic to an album they created or to one of our gallery categories.

I will cover shipping costs and ship the items via USPS First Class Mail, but I will not be responsible for lost/misdirected or damaged packages. (Don't worry I'll pack them good)

This giveaway is open to US and International Members of NailArtsy.com.

Facebook, G+, OPI and Salon Designs are in no way tied to or endorsing this giveaway and I have purchased these items myself.

#307 Ridges??

Water and general diet decisions cause ridges. Also, smokers (like myself) tend to have ridgy nails. Shame on we smokers.

#139 Loose glitter gradient - Picture Tutorial

Posted by Valerie Wilson on 31 January 2014 - 01:04 AM

Any glitter will work for this.  Stop by your favorite craft store and pick some up, even Walmart has glitter. Experiment with different sizes, textures and shapes of glitter.

You can even use loose eye shadow to get a nice shimmer effect too.  Don't have any "loose" eye shadow, but have some really old pressed eye shadow laying around you're never going to use?  Recycle it and use it for your nails ... Scrape it loose with a hard pointy object into a little pile and use that.

I just use a clear polish as the "glue"  Put some glitter on a small make up brush and you can either tap your brush above your nail so it falls into place or lightly touch your glitter filled brush directly on your nail.  Experiment and find the way you like to apply it to achieve the look you like.

Be sure to seal it with a top coat.

(I found this picture searching the web, the picture is watermarked.  I am not taking credit for the picture in anyway.  The tips for application are my suggestions)

#136 Hi! I'm Jax from PA.

Posted by Jacquelyne Renee on 30 January 2014 - 08:45 PM

I think the gels have saved my nails during this challenge.  I started the challenge with all intention of just learning a new artistic medium.  Boy, did I underestimate!  Daily doses (or more on days I had to redo and redo to get a satisfactory design) of pure acetone can wreak havoc on nails, cuticles, etc.  I have become the cuticle crazy woman, keeping cuticle oil stashed within reach all over the house, lol.  I only redid my gels twice during the month of the challenge, once right before, and once in the middle.  Both times, I just did a simple French, but yes, it is a 2hr investment for me to sit and do the gels.  It's not something I can rush through because if I do, then they won't last, and all that time is wasted.  I was able to paint, remove the paint, paint again, day after day, while keeping the beds of my nails protected from all the polish changes.  Tomorrow is my last day of the challenge.  While I'll miss all the fun new things day after day, I think at least for a week or so, I'm going to enjoy just ONE mani.
