Now, what do you have to do to be entered into the giveaway you ask??

Its pretty simple....

1 -  become a member here at nailartsy.com

2 -  upload a pic to one of our Galleries ---OR--- create an album and upload at least 1 pic to it

If you need help with uploading a pic there is a “how to “ thread in the “Welcome” forum for your reference

http://nailartsy.com...-the-galleries/

Winners will be chosen at random on Friday Feb 14th after 12pm PST and be notified via private message and email .  I will also announce the winners on FaceBook and G+ for your convenience. Winners will be asked to email back their shipping address so I may ship them their prize. You will have until Feb 21st  to respond or forfeit the prize and another member will be chosen.

During my random drawing of member names, if a name is chosen that has not made an album and/or uploaded a pic, another name will be drawn and so on until I have 2 members that have uploaded a pic to an album they created or to one of our gallery categories.

#57 Join the Weekly Theme Challenge by FingerFood Nails - Week 1

Posted by Valerie Wilson on 08 January 2014 - 02:12 PM

Here is my entry for Week 1 - Animal Print.

I didn't know what I was going to do other than I knew I wanted to do blue.

I pulled out Forever 21 - Sapphire and Wet n Wild - I Need a Refresh-Mint and painted a few nails each color.

Now what kind of animal designs ... hmm... I decided to go leopard and zebra.  I really like the two patterns together.

I left my ring finger "animal free" and used some holographic flakes that I got at the dollar store on a recent trip. I have never used this before so I figured why not try 'em.  I used clear polish and just picked up pieces with my brush and placed them on my nail.

I am really happy with how these came out!!  Hope you enjoy!!!

#307 Ridges??

Posted by KJ Kiser on 13 February 2014 - 07:45 PM

Water and general diet decisions cause ridges. Also, smokers (like myself) tend to have ridgy nails. Shame on we smokers.

Posted by KJ Kiser on 13 February 2014 - 07:42 PM

I have the Julep cuticle oil as well. Had used Burt's Bees in the past and liked it, but wanted to try something easier to use.  Love this stuff. Major improvement showing to my cuticles. No more hangnails!!.

#136 Hi! I'm Jax from PA.

Posted by Jacquelyne Renee on 30 January 2014 - 08:45 PM

I think the gels have saved my nails during this challenge.  I started the challenge with all intention of just learning a new artistic medium.  Boy, did I underestimate!  Daily doses (or more on days I had to redo and redo to get a satisfactory design) of pure acetone can wreak havoc on nails, cuticles, etc.  I have become the cuticle crazy woman, keeping cuticle oil stashed within reach all over the house, lol.  I only redid my gels twice during the month of the challenge, once right before, and once in the middle.  Both times, I just did a simple French, but yes, it is a 2hr investment for me to sit and do the gels.  It's not something I can rush through because if I do, then they won't last, and all that time is wasted.  I was able to paint, remove the paint, paint again, day after day, while keeping the beds of my nails protected from all the polish changes.  Tomorrow is my last day of the challenge.  While I'll miss all the fun new things day after day, I think at least for a week or so, I'm going to enjoy just ONE mani.

#10 Don't toss those old bottles and brushes

Posted by Valerie Wilson on 31 December 2013 - 12:57 AM

Don't toss those old brushes and bottles of polish!!

You can also save the bottles and make/mix your own custom colors. Use loose glitter or even loose eyeshadow with some clear polish to make your own glitter polish.

You can cut up the brushes to make different size brushes for your nail art to fit your needs. The brushes pictured I have already cut. I use the black one as my detail brush for nail art (my most used brush) and the Sinful bottle I cleaned out and cut the brush just a little thinner and use as my striper. I use the empty bottle to store it in after I clean and dry it so it doesn't get damaged while I'm not using it. ;)
