I read or watched a video somewhere that if you paint your nail with a coat of Elmers Glue before putting on your glitter, when you want to remove it, it will just peel off.

Has anyone tried this before?

I just did my nails today and am trying it for the first time (well, the application part). I cut up an old small makeup brush I had laying around to use to apply the glue. It dried clear in just a few minutes. Then I applied my glitter nail polish and Seche Vite for my top coat. So we shall see. I'm going to do my nail art tomorrow on top of it.

So far, after a nice hot shower, they seem to be fine and staying on.

I do this.Yes it works. And u put the glue on as a base coat for it to work. When I first try this I didn't put the glue on until after I put on the base coat.Which the easy peel effect didn't work.So yes this tip does work when applied right.

Yup, you were right candylady. It didn't work. ;(
I'm going to try it again though without using a base coat first and put the glue directly on my naked nail.

I have to do my weather mani for the finger food challenge first. Then I'm gonna fo this again.

Thank you for telling me what I did wrong. I probably wouldn't have caught that it was the base coat causing it not to work.

Ahhh I have to try this! I hate getting glitter off! Question, does having acrylic nails work the same? I don't wanna mess them up!

Good question.... I don't know. But I don't think Elmers glues would mess them up though.

If it didn't work, it would give u the situation I had, where I just had to use acetone to remove it. As long as u use non-actetone remover, u should be fine.

Yes try it and let us know how it worked for you.  Remember - no base coat. Put the glue on your "clean" nail
